About the role

The City of Sydney is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Workshop Team Leader to join our Fleet Services Team responsible for managing and maintaining our fleet of light and heavy vehicles.

In this role, you'll provide supervision, coaching, leadership and technical advice to the team to ensure all fleet assets are safe and/or road worthy. 

You’ll be responsible for ensuring the designated workshop area is maintained in accordance with legislative requirements including acting as the authorised examiner and nominated proprietor (or alternative nominee should the proprietor be on leave).

We're looking for someone with:  

  • trade qualifications and a licence as a motor mechanic
  • RMS Heavy Vehicle inspector/examiner licence
  • eligibility to become appointed by Fair Trading/TfNSW as an authorised vehicle inspector/proprietor
  • Class C NSW Motor Vehicle Licence and HR Motor Vehicle Licence.

This role has the option of a team based flexible working arrangement – known as a 9-day fortnight.
