About the role

We are seeking an experienced People and Culture Business Partner to join our collaborative and supportive team in what is set to be a challenging and rewarding year as we continue to implement the City’s new People Strategy.

 

The People Strategy 2022 – 2026 has 3 core objectives:

The People and Culture Business Partners play a key role, acting as the subject matter expert for the business units  they support for strategic initiatives and cyclical people related activities. The role of the People and Culture Business Partner advises on people practices, policies and procedures and partner with their business units to drive compliance, performance and employee engagement.

 

Key accountabilities:

  • acting as the subject matter expert for their business units to provide advice and guidance and work on strategic initiatives with the other teams within the division including; Recruitment, Learning and Development, Diversity and Inclusion, Workplace Health and Safety, Workers Compensation, HR Systems and Payroll Services
  • managing employee and industrial relations matters within business units driving outcomes and mitigating risk
  • manage and contribute to change management initiatives
  • apply knowledge and expertise to create and implement cultural initiatives to help embed our values in everything we do.

 

We're looking for someone with: 

  • tertiary qualifications at degree or diploma level majoring in human resources management or equivalent and/or experience in a similar role
  • proven experience in providing a range of Human Resources generalist advice in large or complex organisations
  • demonstrated record of adopting a consultative approach in the delivery of human resources services to managers and employees

This role has the option of a rostered day off each month, known as a 19-day month.
