About the role
The City of Sydney Library provides a space for our vibrant communities to grow, learn connect and create. Our nine branches provide important services for our community, assisting students, visitors, tourists and workers with their technology and information needs. The Library Data Officer is a new role in our Library Futures team, who will manage and maintain all forms of library data. The role will analyse data and provide insights to the library team that will help develop strategic projects and make informed decisions. The key responsibilities include:
- Analysing library data to identify trends and opportunities
- Generating Power BI dashboards and reports from library data sources for stakeholder decision-making
- Coaching and mentoring staff in data management best practices, customer service, information technology, trends and drive change and continuous improvement activities
- Collaborating with key stakeholders to design and maintain best practices for the library’s data sources
- Providing front-line library information and circulation services to the general public
- Supporting team management, strategic planning and daily operations through staff supervision, monitoring and maintaining facilities and spaces, and taking the initiative to lead the team
The successful candidate will have experience in:
- data management, data administration, data analysis and data governance
- proficiency using data management systems such as Microsoft Office Suite and other databases
- providing high quality customer service

This role has the option of a rostered day off each month, known as a 19-day month.
