The City of Sydney is seeking an Information Analyst to join the Data and Information Management Services Unit.

 

About the role:

 

As an Information Analyst, you will lead and deliver records and information management services and initiatives to enhance the City’s performance and compliance with records management and information protection policies, standards, and legislative requirements.

 

This role requires critical thinking, attention to detail and a desire to shape and embed effective and sustainable records and information management systems and practices.

 

Key Responsibilities:
 

  • Develop authoritative advice and manage services in all aspects of records and information management practice including information appraisal, sentencing, capture, storage, control, access and disposal.
     
  • Maintain and improve the City’s records and information policies, procedures, classification scheme, tools and resources to ensure compliance, efficiency and effectiveness.
     
  • Design records management file plans for business units and lead complex appraisal, sentencing and disposal projects.
     
  • Lead the City’s records management compliance and reporting program, including undertaking the City’s annual records management self-assessment activity.
     
  • Plan, manage and execute records and information management improvement projects and initiatives.

 

To be successful, you will have:
 

  • Relevant Tertiary qualifications in Business, IT or Information Management and/or demonstrated significant equivalent experience and competencies.
     
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in records and information management compliance, service delivery and disposal authorities in large and complex organisations.
     
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering successful projects and change that improves compliance, systems, processes and performance.
     
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills and a proven ability to prepare and deliver high quality presentations and documentation.
     
  • Minimum three years experience with records management systems such as OpenText Content Manager (TRIM/Records Manager) or similar.

This role has the option of a rostered day off each month, known as a 19-day month.
