About the role
The Major Events and Festivals team is seeking up to four Events Interns to support the successful delivery of the Sydney New Year’s Eve event.
You’ll work alongside industry professionals in areas including media calls, marketing, access and inclusion, volunteer programs, crowd and vehicle management, vessel movements and show planning.
Full-time and part-time positions are available, with internships running between Monday 15 September 2025 and Friday 9 January 2026 (exact dates to be confirmed during selection). You’ll be required to work in the lead up to Christmas and between 27 December and 1 January. Christmas Day, Boxing Day and other weekends will be days off.
What you’ll be doing:
- assist with set-up, operations, logistics and pack-down under direction of coordinators or managers
- handle event administration tasks like meeting minutes, agendas, action lists and updating project documentation
- support other programming, production and business operations as required
- work on event sites during Sydney New Year’s Eve
We're looking for someone with:
- an interest in major events and festivals in a local government setting
- ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities
- proactive, flexible and reliable approach
- good written and oral communication skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality
- willingness to work some evenings and weekends.
